FAQ

WHAT HAPPENS IN A COACHING SESSION?

Your coaching sessions will take place in person or via phone. During each session, we will focus on your goals, what you would like to change, and what obstacles you may encounter. By focusing on your strengths, we will work together to develop tools, routines and strategies that are customized to fit your needs. Because coaching is action oriented, your coach will challenge you to work on the goal, system or strategy you developed in the session. Partnering with you, the coach provides accountability and check in systems outside your scheduled session, so you can manage any obstacles faced, and track your progress.

HOW IS COACHING DIFFERENT FROM THERAPY?

Coaching is not therapy. Coaching is different from traditional therapy in that coaching does not deal with psychological issues. Even though emotional issues may arise, coaching is designed to identify a client’s goals, develop action plans and skills to achieve the goals, and create routines and habits to move the client forward to success. Rather than focusing on the past, coaching focuses on what the client wants now and in the future.

HOW LONG DO CLIENTS WORK WITH A COACH?

The duration of coaching depends on the client’s needs and goals. Because change takes time, it is recommended that you work with a coach for a minimum of 3 months in order to see sustainable change. That time frame will allow us to establish a solid foundation, thoroughly identify your challenges and strengths and work together to develop new strategies and habits, while celebrating your progress and success along the way. At the end of 3 months, we will evaluate your progress and discuss options for continued coaching. Typically, clients experience the most results the longer they work with a coach.

DO INSURANCE COMPANIES COVER COACHING SERVICES?

Currently, coaching is not covered by insurance companies and must be paid by the individual. Payment plans are available for most of my coaching packages.
